If you’ve ever thought about turning your love of beautiful paper, personalized stationery, and thoughtful details into something more, becoming a Dogwood Hill Brand Partner might be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

And with Christmas card season just around the corner, there may be no better time to get started.

For Andie Cape, becoming a Dogwood Hill Brand Partner began with something simple: she was already a longtime customer who genuinely loved the products. She was also looking for a creative outlet that could fit around raising her children.

Today, she’s building a business of her own while helping customers find paper products they love.

We sat down with Andie to hear what the Brand Partner experience has been like so far — and what she would tell someone considering taking the leap.

Why Andie Became a Dogwood Hill Brand Partner

After leaving her corporate career to stay home with her children, Andie began thinking about ways she could do something creative for herself while maintaining flexibility for her family.

When she discovered the Dogwood Hill Brand Partner program, it immediately stood out.

“I have been a longtime customer of Dogwood Hill and always look forward to designing my Christmas cards each year, ordering stationery, notepads, etc. I left my corporate job to stay home and raise my children, which has been such a blessing, but I had been exploring ideas for a creative outlet and something I could do for myself, while also being flexible enough to primarily be a Mom. I saw the Instagram post promoting the Brand Partner program and thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me. I was so excited to apply!”

For Andie, the goal was simple:

“I really was looking for a creative outlet for myself and a way to start a small business to generate some extra income.”

And when it came time to apply, she didn’t have many reservations.

“No, I really didn’t. I was really excited to apply and ready to jump right in!”

A Creative Business With Built-In Support

One of the things Andie enjoys most about the Brand Partner program is being able to combine two things she loves: sales and creativity.

“I love sales but I also have a creative brain so I love that the brand partner program let’s me combine the two – thinking of ways I can sell the products but also helping customers design products and help pick out the perfect items for what they are looking for. I have my own business, which I love, but also the support of the Dogwood Hill team!”

That support has been an important part of her experience.

“Wonderful! The Dogwood Hill team has been SO helpful and so responsive to any questions.”

She says that experience has continued as she’s grown her business.

“The entire team is so friendly and so eager to help. Any questions I have had have been answered so quickly and they are also so amazing at helping find solutions to any problems.”

Introducing More People to Dogwood Hill

Even as a longtime customer herself, Andie was surprised to discover how many people around her had never experienced Dogwood Hill.

“Honestly, how many people in my circle were not previously familiar with Dogwood Hill products! I have been a longtime customer of Dogwood Hill and I guess just assumed that most of my friends and family were as well. So it has been nice to be able to introduce them to the brand!”

For someone considering becoming a Brand Partner, that can mean an entirely new audience of customers waiting to discover personalized stationery, gifts, invitations and holiday paper.

Building a Business Around Paper

Andie’s experience as a Brand Partner even helped her uncover a new creative passion.

“So, I actually started as a Brand Partner and then started my own paper design company. I was selling the products and started playing around with designing my own and realized how much I really loved it. It really opened up my eyes to a new passion for me! Now, I sell both Dogwood Hill products and my own designs depending on what my customer is looking for.”

Being able to offer Dogwood Hill gives her customers even more choices.

“It widens the amount of products I am able to offer to my customers. It’s so nice having such a wide variety of products and designs readily available.”

So far, personalized stationery has generated the most interest for her.

But she has her eye on what’s coming next.

“Primarily personalized stationery! I am excited for the Holidays though and being able to promote Christmas cards!”

Why Christmas Is a Great Time to Become a Brand Partner

The holiday season is one of the biggest moments of the year for paper.

Christmas cards, personalized stationery, wrapping paper, gift tags and thoughtful paper gifts are already on customers’ minds — making now an especially exciting time to begin introducing Dogwood Hill to your friends, family and community.

And you don’t have to know exactly what every customer wants.

As Andie has learned:

“Everyone is different! Some customers know exactly what they want and some really want guidance and help picking out the right product. Both are great!”

That personal connection is a big part of what makes the Brand Partner experience special.

Is Becoming a Brand Partner Right for You?

Andie believes the program can work particularly well for someone who is motivated, creative and looking for a business that can flex with their life.

“Anyone who is self motivated and has a desire to run their own business! The flexibility is amazing as a stay at home mom. The extra income is a plus too! Depending on what my kids have going on, some weeks I have more time to devote to it than others. You definitely get out of it what you put into it.”

And for anyone who has been considering applying, her advice is simple:

“What do you have to lose? The investment is relatively low and the potential return is unlimited. If you are new to the paper industry (like me), it’s a great way to dip your toe in and learn and grow from there. If you have an established business already, it’s a great edition to your profile. Really a win, win situation either way!”
