Longtime friends Liz Eichholz and Lindsey Johnson founded Weezie Towels in 2018 when they both realized luxurious towels were hard to come by. Their company now boasts loads of customizable towels as well as plush robes all made from an innovative cotton weaving technology that has put Weezie’s soft and fluffy towels on the map.  We are thrilled to have the chance to chat with Liz and Lindsey as well as to gain insight into their creative, entrepreneurial wheelhouses! Enjoy our chats with this talented duo below.

What is currently inspiring you?

Creative partnerships! I’m loving all of the collaborations I’ve seen over the past several months – it’s so fun seeing brands work together and support each other in unique ways during this crazy time. At Weezie, we recently launched a limited edition kids’ coverup with minnow, and are gearing up for more fun to come in 2021.

What is one positive to spending more time at home than usual during this time?

Time with family! I gave birth in late May, so it has been a blessing adjusting to life as a family of four with a little extra time at home.

How are you practicing…

  • Creativity? As a Creative Director, a lot (but not all!) of my job is creative but I’ve been craving creativity away from work recently and have been picking up my paint brushes again! I’m working on ink portraits of both of my girls.
  • Kindness (towards yourself and others)? I’ve been trying to go easy on myself when my exercise or work routine doesn’t meet my expectations. It’s a crazy time in my life and the world and a little self kindness goes a long way! Extending this kindness and cutting other slack is extra important during this time. I firmly believe most people are doing the best with what they have!
  • Discipline (your work, your health, your routines)? I’m practicing discipline in work, health, and routines all in the same way: putting my phone DOWN. It’s so easy to be constantly sucked into your phone whether it’s work, texts, instagram. I’m working really hard on focusing on 1 thing at a time and being intentional with my phone use!

Name one item in your home that is bringing you joy or that has new meaning in this time?

My Short Robe! Nothing beats wrapping up in a fluffy robe at the end of a long day, drink in hand.

We’re seeing a surge in physical correspondence as there is always something special about receiving a hand-written note. If you were to send a physical note to three of your Instagram friends, who would they be?

What is currently inspiring you?

The Weezie team! Their passion, dedication and excitement are all so encouraging always, but especially during such an uncertain time. While we may be working remotely, we’re staying connected and remaining as engaged and collaborative as ever, facilitating weekly time wide meetings over Hangouts, and meeting customers virtually over Zoom coffee. I’m so proud of all that we’ve accomplished during this crazy time, and am looking forward to an exciting few months ahead.  (PS – come join us! We’re hiring!

What is one positive to spending more time at home than usual during this time?

Time with family in our new home. We just recently relocated from New York to Atlanta, so I’ve been fortunate to enjoy time getting settled in our new home with my husband and six month old daughter.

How are you practicing…

  • Creativity? Professionally, we’re thinking of creative ways to reach our audience in an offline way that’s both unique and authentic. Personally, decorating our new home!
  • Kindness (towards yourself and others)? Towards myself – enjoying more wine than I usually would ; ) Towards others – checking up on friends as often as I can. I think a quick phone call or text goes a long way right now!
  • Discipline (your work, your health, your routines)? Admittedly, it used to be very hard for me to “turn off,” but now that we have a baby, I have to stop working when the nanny leaves! I have also been going on walks every morning or evening – it’s a great way to unwind, listen to podcasts, and get some good thinking done!

Name one item in your home that is bringing you joy or that has new meaning in this time?

Custom makeup towels embroidered with our new street address! I’m stocking these in each of our bathrooms, and looking forward to hosting guests to put them to use soon.

  • @heatherkmcmahan – thanking her for the laughs (and for being a Weezie fan!)
  • @augustacole – She planned my wedding with Easton Events years ago and I am so excited for her going out on her own.
  • @kitporterstudios – letting her know how much of a fan I am –  I have been coveting her work for our new house!
