One of our favorite local businesses, Party Pickup, put together a checklist for the perfect at-home party, including easy activities to do with your kids.
Decorating suggestions:
- Use construction paper placemats and add crayons to the table.
- Use your child’s toys and pick flowers from your yard for decor.
- Tie ribbon around utensils.
- Mix and match paper goods you have on hand.
- Use a side table with pillows for seating.
Party Animal Train party theme suggested activities:
- Make your own animal mask
- Animal Safari Trail Mix – animal crackers, M&Ms and crackers
- Ask neighbors ahead of time to put to put toy animals in their windows or out in the front yard and go on a “safari” walk around the neighborhood
Ice Cream party theme suggested activities:
- Ice cream buffet with toppings
- Make your own “pin the cherry on the ice cream sundae” game
- Create your own ice cream shop by setting up a table to “sell” ice cream to parents and siblings
